Fabrication & Metalwork
Yes — Westforge Works takes on fabrication across steel, stainless steel and aluminium, ranging from small one-off items and repairs through to gates, pergolas, structural frames, tiny-house and container-structure frames, fabricated assemblies and larger custom projects. MIG and TIG welding, plasma cutting, guillotining and sheet cutting, and metal and tube bending are all part of the workshop capability. Work is carried out from drawings, sketches, samples, photographs or site measurements, and the same items can be prepared and coated in the one workshop. Each requirement is assessed on its practical fit with the workshop.

How it works
The process, step by step.
Discuss the requirement
We review drawings, photographs, measurements, an idea or a description of the item and confirm what is practical.
Scope and quote
We set out materials, fabrication approach, finish and any assumptions in a written quotation. Where a project requires engineering or certified design input, that requirement should be identified during scoping.
Fabricate
Cutting, forming, welding and assembly carried out in the workshop, from small items to larger framed structures.
Prepare and coat
Where required the item moves straight into blasting, powder coating, painted finishing or protective coating.
Check and hand over
Dimensional and visual checks before collection, delivery or install coordination.
Practical considerations
Worth knowing before you enquire.
- Open to fabrication big or small, standard or unusual, subject to project suitability.
- Drawings, dimensions, photographs or a sample speed up quoting considerably.
- Where engineering, certified design or building approval is required, that sits outside fabrication and should be identified early.
- Tell us the service environment — coastal, industrial or internal — so the finish suits.
- Fabricating and finishing through one workshop removes a handover between trades.
- Site access, weight and transport should be raised early for larger assemblies and frames.
Property-protection fabrication
Custom guardrails, barriers, handrails and protection frames.
Westforge can fabricate custom guardrails, protection rails, barriers, handrails and protection frames to suit suitable commercial, industrial, strata and property requirements — fabricated to the agreed project scope and dimensions, then blasted and coated in the same workshop. Where a standard off-the-shelf product suits better, standard property-protection products may be available through Halo Security WA.
Got something different?
Not every fabrication job fits a standard category. Westforge is open to unusual, niche and custom fabrication requests — from small one-off pieces to larger structures — and assesses each requirement on its practical fit with the workshop. If the requirement does not fit a standard product category, send us the drawings, dimensions, photos or idea and we can assess whether it suits our workshop.
Discuss Your Fabrication RequirementFrequently asked
Common questions.
Does Westforge take small fabrication jobs?+
Yes. Single brackets, supports, small frames, repairs and one-off custom items are all normal workshop work, subject to current capacity.
Does Westforge take large fabrication jobs?+
Larger fabrication is welcome and assessed project by project against workshop capacity, handling, access and transport.
Can Westforge fabricate structural frames?+
Custom and structural steel frames can be fabricated where the requirement suits the workshop. Where engineering or certified design input is required, that should be identified during scoping.
Can Westforge fabricate tiny-house or container-structure frames?+
Westforge can assess fabrication requirements for tiny-house, modular and container-based structural frames on a project-by-project basis. Send the drawings or dimensions and we will confirm suitability.
Does Westforge make pergolas?+
Custom fabricated pergolas and outdoor structural metalwork can be assessed to suit the property, dimensions and project requirements. Design, engineering and any building approval requirements are handled separately.
Can Westforge take unusual or niche fabrication requests?+
Yes — unusual and niche requests are welcome. Each one is assessed on its practical fit with the workshop rather than turned away for not matching a standard product.
Does Westforge make custom guardrails?+
Yes. Custom guardrails and protection rails can be fabricated to the agreed project scope and dimensions for warehouses, workshops, commercial property, strata and industrial sites. Engineering or certification requirements are confirmed separately where applicable.
Does Westforge fabricate barriers?+
Yes. Custom and bolt-down protective barriers can be fabricated to suit the location and application, then blasted and powder coated or protectively coated in the same workshop.
Can Westforge fabricate handrails?+
Yes. Custom, commercial and workshop handrails are fabricated to measure. Where a handrail forms part of a compliance requirement, that requirement should be identified during scoping.
Does Westforge make protection frames?+
Yes. Machinery, equipment and property protection frames can be fabricated to the agreed scope and dimensions, including bolt-down arrangements where suitable.
Do I need engineering drawings?+
Not always. Drawings help, but a sketch, photographs, a sample part or measurements are often enough to start the conversation and quote.
Can the fabricated item be coated as well?+
Yes. Abrasive blasting, powder coating, painted finishing and protective coating are all carried out by Westforge, so fabrication and finishing can be coordinated as one scope.
Does Westforge fabricate stainless steel?+
Yes. Stainless steel fabrication is available for suitable custom, architectural and project-specific items, with TIG or MIG welding selected to suit the material and finish.
Does Westforge fabricate aluminium?+
Yes. Aluminium fabrication is available for suitable items, with the welding and forming approach chosen to suit the section, thickness and required finish.
Does Westforge do MIG and TIG welding?+
Yes. MIG and TIG welding are both used across suitable steel, stainless steel and aluminium fabrication, with the process selected to suit the material, finish and job.
Does Westforge offer plasma cutting?+
Yes. Plasma cutting is available for suitable steel, stainless and aluminium components, shapes and fabrication work. Send the shape, material and thickness and we will confirm what is practical.
Can Westforge cut sheet metal?+
Yes. Guillotining and sheet cutting can be undertaken as part of fabrication work or for suitable standalone requirements. Confirm the material, size and quantity at enquiry.
Can Westforge bend metal or tube?+
Metal forming and bending can be incorporated into custom fabrication, including suitable sheet, tube, pressing and flashing requirements. Suitability depends on the material, section and radius required.
Can I send a sketch or sample instead of a formal drawing?+
Yes. Send a drawing, sketch, photograph, sample, dimensions or simply a description of the requirement. Westforge can assess how the item may be fabricated, the likely material and workshop processes involved, and what further information is needed to quote. Any engineering or certified design requirements are identified during scoping.
Which areas does Westforge fabricate for?+
The core service corridor runs from Kwinana through Rockingham and Baldivis to Port Kennedy, Secret Harbour, Peel and Mandurah. Other Western Australian project-based requirements can be assessed where the work suits the workshop.
