Specialist Coating Applications & Product Trials
Westforge Works carries out project-specific coating applications for requirements beyond standard finishing, including anti-corrosion systems, thermal-protection coatings, painted finishes and other specialist protective treatments. Where a job calls for more than standard powder coating, Westforge can assess specialist protective coating options, trial suitable systems and work through practical application requirements. Each requirement is assessed individually, case by case, and is subject to suitability.

How it works
The process, step by step.
Discuss the requirement
We talk through the component, substrate, service environment and what the coating has to do.
Assess suitability
Each request is assessed individually against what can practically and safely be done in our workshop.
Select the system
A suitable protective, anti-corrosion, thermal or paint system is agreed for the application.
Prepare and apply
The surface is prepared and the coating applied by the method that suits the system and component.
Check and report
Practical checks are carried out and observations reported without implying laboratory analysis.
Practical considerations
Worth knowing before you enquire.
- Not every coating, product or substrate is suitable — requirements are assessed case by case.
- Westforge's core service corridor runs from Kwinana through Rockingham and Baldivis to Peel and Mandurah. Because some specialist coating requirements are niche or difficult to source locally, suitable project-based scopes can also be assessed across Western Australia — including the Pilbara, Goldfields and other regional areas — and, where appropriate, interstate.
- Remote and regional requirements are assessed individually based on the coating system, item, transport, application method and project logistics.
- Coating selection is driven by the service environment, not appearance alone.
- Where a trial is involved, it is practical application work rather than certified laboratory testing.
- Provide product data sheets and application instructions where you have them.
Standard coating system not the right fit?
Where standard coating systems do not suit the requirement, Westforge can assess other suitable products, systems and practical application approaches — including anti-corrosion, thermal-protection and specialist paint systems. Product trials remain available where useful.
Discuss a Specialist Coating RequirementFrequently asked
Common questions.
What is a specialist coating application?+
A project-specific coating system applied where standard powder coating or general finishing is not the right answer — for example anti-corrosion systems, thermal-protection coatings or a specified protective paint system.
Do you apply anti-corrosion coatings?+
Yes, where the component and environment suit. Systems are selected for the exposure the item will face in service.
Can you coat HVAC, condenser or plant equipment?+
Coating of plant, equipment and enclosures is assessed case by case against access, component condition and the coating system required.
Do you apply painted protective systems?+
Yes. Protective and industrial paint systems are applied alongside powder coating, selected to suit the application and service environment.
Can Westforge trial a new coating product?+
Where appropriate, yes. Product trials are a secondary capability, subject to assessing the requirement and its suitability for our workshop.
Is this laboratory testing?+
No. Westforge is not a testing laboratory and does not offer certified analysis.
Can Westforge assess specialist projects from the Pilbara or Goldfields?+
Yes. Specialist coating and project-specific fabrication requirements from the Pilbara, Goldfields and other regional WA areas can be assessed where the scope and logistics suit.
Can Westforge consider interstate specialist projects?+
For specialised requirements that justify transport or remote project coordination, Westforge is happy to assess interstate enquiries individually.
