Custom Gate Quote Checklist
Westforge Works · Reviewed 2026-11-06
A clear gate enquiry helps Westforge Works understand the property, intended use and finishing requirements before developing a quote. Approximate measurements and photos are useful starting information; final dimensions and suitability need confirmation.
Describe the entrance
Include your suburb, the approximate opening width and desired height, photos of the entrance and any existing posts or gate. Mention slopes, nearby walls, vehicle access and other constraints you know about. Do not treat customer measurements as fabrication approval.
Explain how the gate will be used
Say whether it is for residential, rural or commercial use, what vehicles or pedestrians use it, and whether you prefer manual or automated operation. If unsure about sliding or swing arrangements, ask for the options to be assessed against the available space.
Discuss automation as part of the scope
Mention existing power and control equipment if known. Ask which controls, installation work and safety provisions are included in the proposal. The system should be specified for the actual gate and site by the responsible team; this guide is not an installation or safety-design instruction.
Include finishing requirements
Provide a preferred colour or reference photo, the intended exposure and any existing coating problems. Ask about material, preparation and finishing options. A visual example is not a guarantee of an exact colour match, coating specification or service life.
Check the quote before accepting
Confirm the gate, posts, hardware, automation, preparation, coating, delivery and installation items that are included or excluded. Request pricing, lead time and payment terms for your particular scope. Do not rely on another supplier’s published price or turnaround.
